Alexander Continues Momentum into Flat Rock

Jayson Alexander (#10) drivers into turn 1 at Flat Rock Speedway with William Sawalich (#18) trailing behind.

May 22, 2024 (CHARLOTTE, North Carolina) - This past Saturday, May 18, Jayson Alexander Racing appeared in its second ARCA Menards Series competition at Flat Rock Speedway. In his first visit to the track that sits outside Detroit, Alexander looked to back up his previous 8th place finish at Nashville.

Wasting no time, Alexander quickly began to learn the confines of the .25-mile speedway in practice. The afternoon session was filled with a lot of laps and learning. The support of Crew Chief, Chris Vanscoy and Spotter, Ryan Honeycutt was a huge factor in the easy transition. When the hour-long session concluded, Alexander would slot himself in the 7th place position, right behind experienced, veteran teammate Zachary Tinkle.

Minutes later, the drivers were sent out alone for two qualifying laps. The starting order for the Sioux Chief 150 was quickly set, as Alexander raced he way into the 10th position. Leading up to the evening race was an autograph session with the amazing crowd that came out to the racetrack.

The nighttime rolled around, and it was time to get the competition underway. Action in Alexander’s night began on lap 3, as an incident occurred going into turn 3. Going into the corner, fellow driver Colton Collins, driver of the #93, made contact with Alexander’s right front sending Collins spinning. Thankfully both drivers would end up without damage, as Alexander began clawing his way through the field. When the checkered flag waved, Alexander would roll into the 8th position.
