Charlotte Slide - Alexander takes on ARCA National Competition

Jayson Alexander (#11) drives through the tri-oval in practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

May 29, 2024 (CHARLOTTE, North Carolina) - Jayson Alexander Racing took the track this past Friday, May 24, for its final appearance in the ARCA Menards Series for this month. The treacherous Charlotte Motor Speedway played host to almost 30 drivers who looked to secure the title in one of the most coveted events on the schedule.

The only practice session for the ARCA Menards Series began at 11:40. Behind the wheel of the #11 Constant Contact for Fast Track Racing, Alexander hit the track for his first laps at the track. Coming in he knew that the track would be difficult to learn for a first timer like him. Alexander did not let that affect him as he learned a lot through the session and would round out the top 20 on speed.

Quickly following was a 20-minute qualifying session. Unlike the previous weeks, drivers could go out and put down as many laps as they want throughout that duration. Alexander and the Fast Track team sent him out in the opening minutes for a couple of laps on fresh tires and settled for the 19th starting position.

Pre-race was filled with a lot of action, as there were several hours between sessions. Alexander had the chance to meet fans in the autograph session at the General Tire booth and the Constant Contact booth in the fan zone.

As the North Carolina sun began to slowly set, the action on the track was beginning to heat up. After taking pictures with dozens of guests before the General Tire 150, it was time to get the action underway. Problems arose for the team immediately as the car was ill-handling, sending Alexander into a spin off turn 2 in the opening laps. The crew spung into action attempting to address the issue. Unfortunately, the handling of the car was still off as Alexander was quote “wrecking loose” lap after lap. Eventually, he would go for a spin through turns 3 & 4. The right front tire began to shred apart and tear-up the nose of the vehicle, this quick turn of events forced the team to surrender their running in the race.

The rest of the weekend was filled with fun and appreciation over at the Constant Contact fan booth. At the station, fans got to meet Alexander, take pictures, change a tire in their “Pit Crew Challenge”, and much more. When asked about his time Alexander stated, “Charlotte was an incredible experience. While we had issues on track, we don’t want that to take away from all the success we had this past weekend. Our incredible partners at Constant Contact put together an amazing event in the Fan Zone and we got to interact and meet so many new fans and supporters!”

“I am so excited to keep racing with Constant Contact throughout the season and am very happy to share all of our experiences with everyone!”
